Premiered by Voces Pulchrae Vocal Ensemble in May of 2016
Duration: ca. 4:30
SATB Chorus, Grade 4.5
This piece is derived from the text by Thomas Moore. It features the first two stanzas from the poem "Cephalus and Procris" from Moore's Legendary Ballads. The poem follows the story of a hunter begging for a wind to cool him down. The piece focuses more on the character of the wind than that of the hunter, with swirling melodies and flowing harmonies. The idea of "wandering" is expressed throughout the piece, as the listener gets a sense of searching for something.
